State visit to LambertsGlas: craftsmanship meets responsibility
State visit to LambertsGlas: craftsmanship meets responsibility
We are delighted to welcome our Bavarian Minister President Dr. Markus Söder to our glassworks in Waldsassen. In our 130-year-old furnace hall - a living industrial monument - we provided an insight into a unique craft that has been recognised by UNESCO as an intangible world cultural heritage site in 2023. We are particularly pleased that Dr Söder is taking on the patronage of the renovation of our historic company site and the culturally significant enhancement with stained glass windows by the world's most important artists that are being created here.
But despite all the public interest, our focus remains clear: The handcrafted production of hand-blown flat glass for the faithful restoration of important cultural buildings worldwide is and remains our focus. Our glass is used wherever quality, authenticity and customisation are required - such as Big Ben in London, Notre Dame in Paris, the White House in Washington or Cologne Cathedral. We see the fact that this work is now also being recognised politically as an important sign of the significance of craftsmanship, monument preservation and regional production in an international context.
