Concordia – A masterpiece made from hand-blown Lamberts glass.

With Concordia, Sir Brian Clarke has created a monumental glass artwork that sets new standards worldwide – and we are proud that this impressive work was created entirely using our hand-blown flat glass.

The 17-metre-high and 34-metre-wide light relief was installed in the new Bahrain International Airport and combines Islamic patterns, Western symbolism and natural motifs in a kaleidoscopic composition of colour and light. The brilliance of our glass unfolds its full effect here – especially thanks to the silicone bonding, which does not require any distracting profiles and focuses on the luminosity of the colours.

The finishing and bonding of our glass was carried out with the utmost precision at DERIX Glasstudios in Taunusstein, a long-standing partner for demanding glass projects. The approximately 127 individually manufactured panels were produced there before being installed in Bahrain within 43 days.

Concordia is not only an artistic masterpiece, but also a powerful symbol of what glass art can achieve in the 21st century – through the interplay of tradition, innovation and international cooperation.

color, light and geometry

I have been using Lambert’s glass for over forty years and in five continents. Lambert’s produce the most beautiful glass in the world, the most varied in range and the most artistically sympathetic to the poetry of the medium.
